Josh Ferrer has worked in the social services and public health field since 2006. Most of his work has been in the world of HIV and sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention as a program manager. First at Cascade AIDS Project, Oregon’s largest AIDS Services Organization, and then at the Oregon Health Authority, he has worked to address inequities and reduce disparities in populations that are disproportionately impacted by these infections including people of color, same-gender loving individuals, trans individuals, people who use drugs, and houseless individuals. During his time at the Oregon Health Authority, Josh administered a number of contracts with local health departments and non-profit organizations. Since leaving the Oregon Health Authority in 2022, he has been providing consulting services to behavioral health practices and non-profit organizations and continues to work as a consultant for the State of Oregon. His work has included workshop facilitation, strategic planning, technical assistance, grant writing with a focus on securing grants that provide funding for agency DEIB work, and developing requests for proposals for equity-based projects.
